In the late 1990s, Holger Feist, a former professional snowboarder and free rider, was injured when an avalanche shovel shifted inside his backpack. This incident inspired him to design a back-protector backpack with enhanced safety features. By 2000–2003, Feist had developed working prototypes—first for protective snow and mountain sports packs, then adapted for cycling. Evoc expanded beyond backpacks to offer protective luggage for cycling, snow, travel, outdoor photography, and dedicated mountain‑sports gear. EVOC has grown from a two‑person passion project to a global leader in protective sports packs. Their slogan, “Protect the things you love”, reflects their core philosophy: safeguarding the user, equipment, and environment through innovation-driven functionality.
