Returns and refunds

If you are unhappy with your item, please let us know. Our Returns Policy gives you 30 days to return or exchange an item bought with a valid receipt. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a refund or exchange, goods must be returned in a re-saleable condition. That means your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. The item must be in the original packaging and returned with any accessories, labels and “free gifts” or bonus items.

To complete your refund or exchange, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 you have an early right to reject goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described, and get a full refund.

But this right is limited to 30 days from the date you took ownership of the goods (this could be the date of purchase or the date the goods were delivered to you - whichever is later).

After the initial 30 days, you can't demand a full refund in the first instance, but you still have the right to a repair or replacement.

How to return your item(s):

  1. Put your unused, labelled item for return back in its original packaging.
  2. Fill in a Returns Form and include this with the item you are returning in a parcel.
  3. Send the parcel to the following address:

J's Cycles

We will be in touch if there are any issues or when your return has been processed.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your returned item is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 14 calendar days. If you paid for standard delivery of the goods, the cost of standard delivery will also be refunded.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable):

- Any item not in its original condition, which is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error

- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at orders@jscycleshack.com

If the item is being returned as a result of our error (damaged, defective, wrong item sent etc), we will refund Royal Mail First Class or Standard Parcel postage costs.

If the item is being returned as a result of a change of mind, purchased the wrong size, item is not suitable, etc… the original cost of the outbound postage will be refunded by us, however the consumer is liable for all return costs incurred.

If you are shipping an item over £50, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

International Refunds

All refunds are processed in GBP (£). J’s Cycle Shack will not refund any charges made by your bank for currency conversions or any customs charges incurred throughout the shipping/returns process. J’s Cycles will not refund differences caused by fluctuations in exchange rates. Shipping costs will be refunded as outlined in the paragraph above.

Guidelines For The Best Experience

Each returned item should be in it’s original packaging with the manufacturer’s labels attached. Please do not tape or attach labels directly to the retail packaging.

Retail store purchases should be returned to the original place of purchase. If this is not possible then follow our website returns policy and include proof of purchase.

We reserve the right to reject the return of goods which are not returned in accordance with our Returns Policy and we may request that you pay for the shipping of such goods back to you. Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

A deduction will be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary. The extent to which a customer can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop.

Once we receive your goods, we will inspect and process them within 24hrs. Refunds will automatically be issued to the same payment method used to purchase the goods. As soon as your return has been processed by our team we will email you to let you know. In the unlikely event that you don’t receive this email within 10 days of posting your parcel to us, please get in touch with our Customer Service Team through our Contact us page or by calling 01977 67999.

If your purchase isn’t everything you expected it to be and you wish to exchange an item the simplest and quickest thing to do is place a brand new order for your new item and return the old one to us for a full refund.

Goods that cannot be returned:

There are some goods you can’t return if you simply change your mind, including:

  • CDs, DVDs or software if you’ve broken the seal on the wrapping
  • Perishable and other items that deteriorate rapidly such as food

You will be responsible for the cost of returning a cancelled order to us.

We will refund to you the price paid for the items and (unless you did not pay for delivery) the delivery charges that you paid up to a maximum amount of the cost of our standard delivery option. You will be refunded to your original method of payment within 14 calendar days of our receipt of the cancelled items or, if earlier, within 14 days from the day we receive proof of return from you. Merida Silex 400 Gravel Bike in Oak Bork/Earth Powder

Season:2026

Brand:Merida

Code:P-R374

The Silex remains all about the road less travelled, the spirit of adventure and camaraderie. The new Mission platform takes on the role of racing.

This is not to say the Silex was a slouch off-road; a week before its launch, Matej Mohoric won the 2023 Gravel World Championships!

The Silex concept was a ground-up design that, rather than taking a road or cyclocross bike and re-jigging the recipe, started with modern MTB-inspired geometry; long top and head tubes and a short stem, offering nimble, confidence-inspiring off-road handling. This second-generation frame runs a revised fork design, meaning you can swap to a suspension fork without affecting the geometry.

All frames have five sets of bottle bosses. The aluminium frame has rack mounting points, offering multiple luggage carrying options for any adventure, and has the ability to run internal routed dropper posts and even dynamo systems.

All Silex (except the 200) feature powerful hydraulic disc brakes and 180mm rotors. Calipers are mounted on the chainstay for better dissipation of braking forces using the flat-mount standard for a neat, flush fit. On carbon models, calipers sit on CNCd aluminium Disc Cooler fins, reducing operating temperatures by up to 35%; particularly important when running fully loaded.

Highlights:

  • Robust aluminium frame with MTB Inspired gravel geometry for off-road stability
  • Full carbon fork with tapered steerer, mounting points and routing for a dynamo hub
  • Shimano GRX 2 x 10 drivetrain
  • Shimano GRX hrdraulic disc brakes
  • Shimano GRX chainset
  • 12mm bolt through axles
  • Multiple mounting points for bags, cages and fenders
